Care starting between 20-28 weeks; £9,000
Care starting between 28-36 weeks; £8,500
Care starting from 36 weeks onwards; £7,000 (+£300 per consultation)
Caesarean section (or C-section) only; £6,000 (+£300 per consultation)

Complimentary introductory video call prior to booking

Anaesthetist and paediatrician fees
For private obstetric care the anaesthetist, paediatrician and hospital fees are always charged and invoiced separately from the Consultant's fees. Please contact The Portland directly with any questions about their charges.

Any scans or investigations advised by Dr Lam will be charged separately by The Portland or your alternative service provider.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does health insurance cover pregnancy and childbirth?
UK health insurance cover typically does not include routine antenatal care and delivery. It is therefore advised to check with your insurer prior to booking which, if any, fees can be reimbursed. Where services are covered by insurance, please note that Dr Lam is a registered provider with major insurers such as Bupa, Aviva, Axa, Cigna and WPA.
When are the consultant fees payable?
To secure a Pregnancy Care Package which includes all consultations, we ask that 50% of the fees are paid at 20 weeks, or if booking after 20 weeks then 50% is due at time of booking. The remaining balance is payable within 7 days after the delivery. If booking a Caesarean section only (and antenatal care is provided elsewhere), the full fee will be payable at time of booking.
What happens if Dr Lam is not available for the delivery?
Dr Lam will discuss with you prior to booking a Pregnancy Care Package if she has any holiday plans coinciding with your expected delivery date. If Dr Lam is not available to deliver your baby due to rare unforeseen circumstances then another member of The Portland obstetrics consultant team with whom Dr Lam works closely will be available to provide cover.
